BrickSlopes

The fist weekend of May we took 3 of our Lego temples for display at the
BRICKSLOPES
Lego Fan event at the South Town Expo Center.
It was pretty fun to meet other Lego fans and be a part of a pretty cool event as this.
I hope they do it again next year!
Here are a couple temples that others had on display there.

This Salt Lake Temple was built by Quinten Christensen.
This "vintage" Ogden Temple was built by John Hubenthal.
The kids and I met John at the Salt Lake Lego store filling Pick a Brick cups.
He had a stacking strategy, so I knew he was a pro! We had fun talking to him about how the local Lego Fan group got to build the displays at the Lego store and he told me about this MOC of the Ogden temple he has.

We plan to join the ULUG group----------->
and attend meetings with fellow LEGO fans!
Thanks to our new friends for letting us post their temples on our blog!

Minecraft Temples

Do you and/or your kids Build Holy Places in Minecraft?
What a great idea! I know Legolas can waste hours on end on Minecraft if we let him.  So we might as well help him do something worthwhile while he's on there!th

This one is built by our cousin, Mr Yellow Hands.  He created our new logo up in the corner.  Yep, he's a pretty talented artist that knows his way around a computer!!
It looks like the Draper Temple to me.

Nauvoo Temple
This one is from our dear friend, Devanie!
Great job!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

We have had quite a few ask us where we have disappeared to, well:
1. This year's Sunday schedule makes our temple building much more difficult!
We love having afternoon church, but we don't get around to things like Building with LEGOs as often, or for as long.
2. We started building the San Diego Temple and got stuck with the spires. Do you know how many spires are on that temple?  There are two large ones, 8 medium, then like 16 small ones! Not that we didn't realize that before building! .
We love the mini version that Andrew Johnson has on his Mocpage
We thought we'd make it normal size and simplify it, but we still didn't make it work.  YET
So after more than a month, we postponed that build and moved onto the
Oquirrh Mountain Temple.
 Beautiful Temple, and ONE spire:)

Sr Primary boys' temple

We had the oldest boys from our primary over a few months ago to practice a song for the Primary Program.
They were getting a little restless and I told them they could build a LEGO temple if they sang it their very best 2 more times.
Wow, why didn't I think of that earlier?  Their voices really told me that the "Priesthood is Restored"

I took a photo after a few of them had to leave, but here is what they ended up with!

Mexico City

Bob the Builder's rendition of the Mexico City Temple.

This was made with our current Lego kit, with a green base plate and 24 2x2x2 slant bricks added.
Built by a 9 year old in about 90 minutes!  Yes, he's experienced (most 9 year old boys are) and we're a little biased! Way to go Bob!
