Legolas and Bob the Builder(His new name)

 We didn't think we'd have time to build a temple on Easter, but Legolas insisted.

One of his friends at church asked him which temple we would be building today:)

 Legolas was the architect today.

Bob the Builder took on his usual role of constructing the steeple

Legolas and Stud started building the Recife Brazil Temple last week. 

Legolas did a great job with the arches.

The base was finished and Stud was assigned the steeple.

On Thursday, a door knock brought Agent T and MrLeg-O to our house to play.  What did they choose to do? Finish the temple.  Agent T was very excited to landscape the exterior. Mr Leg-O was very maticulous about the steeple with Stud.  They really made it fun!

We love having these boys in our neighborhood!  Good friends definitely help make a holy place.

Before we know it, these 3 will be missionaries.  I would LOVE it if they were able to go to a mission near this particular temple, but I'm a little biased toward Brazil!

Temple pick of the week by Legolas:

Provo Utah

 Since this temple is right across the street from the Provo Missionary Training Center, we decided to put missionaries in front instead of a bride and groom.  This temple is hard because the top portion is more rounded.  Legolas tried to "round" the corners, which he did pretty well, but need more practice with that one!  Any ideas?

Stud and Studette made the fountain and added the landscaping.  Legolas was very particular, though and made sure it met his standards.  I kept trying to get him to relax and let his siblings be creative.  However, the Conference talk about a man making sure there was no grit on the wall of a temple in Hawaii kept coming to mind.  I'm guessing that General Authority was not contentious or critical, just meticulous.  Let's just say we're working on that!

All in a name

As Legolas (Our eldest son) and I were at a special church meeting last night, we were so inspired by the 2013 theme for the youth of the church worldwide, Stand Ye in Holy Places.
We had built the Draper temple during the day and had decided it would be fun to start a blog to document our adventure.  Different names were discussed.
So at the meeting, Legolas leaned over to me and whispered "Build in Holy Places."
That was it!  I am so proud of him for capturing the spirit of excitement!
As parents we hope this journey will help our children:
1. Appreciate the beauty of the temples
2. Love the beautiful promises that are given to families there
3. Build each other as we build the House of the Lord
4. Prepare to go there one day themselves

Draper

After all the new legos were organized, we created our home town, Draper temple on Sunday.

The kids really got into the stain glass windows(filled with little blue and clear dot pieces) and the landscape details.
